Calgary Exhibition & Stampede. "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" Calgary, Alberta, Canada [Original 1955 Stampede Calendar Show "Two Champions" Pete Knight on Midnight].
Calgary, AB: Commonwealth Press, 1954. Very good. Original Stampede calendar. 23.5" X 17.5" (60 X 44.5 cm). Date pad remaining from September onwards. Metal hanger at top. Some light wear to edges and creasing from being rolled up. A couple of small closed tears near edges. Two larger yet subtle 2" closed tears at bottom have been fixed with tape at the back. Writing on one of the calendar days. Calendar image has been attached at top only with some light wear to edges and creasing as well. A nice looking calendar. A very rare stampede calendar depicting Peter Charles "Pete" Knight (May 5, 1903 - May 23, 1937). A World Champion Rodeo Bronc Rider and an international superstar of Rodeo. Knight was the acclaimed "King of the Cowboys" of the 1930s, and held the Rodeo Association of America title "World Champion Bronc Rider" for 1932, 1933, 1935, and 1936. SOLD $750.00 US |
