40" X 24". Original Poster. In very good condition. Creases where it was folded into eight. Minor tape residue in top two corners. Bright green and beige with light discolouration on right edge. A strong, graphic poster.

 

Canadian Pacific poster probably from the early 50's which advertises Canadian train trips. Not in Choko and Jones 'Posters of the Canadian Pacific'.

Artist Anonymous. 36.25" x 245" (92 x 61cm). Original. Lithograph. Vancouver: Bulman Bros. B.C. Ltd. Paper slightly discoloured with marks from tape at corners and some slight wrinkling.  A very stylistic and intriguing poster in good condition.

 

 Strong graphic poster depicting a stewardess pointing to Vancouver shown on a globe as the central point for routes to multiple continents/destination. Displayed in Choko and Jones 'Posters of the Canadian Pacific' 2nd edition page 202.

Artist: Peter Ewart. 25 1/2" x 40" on 27" x 41 1/2" linen backing. Original  Canadian Pacific Poster. In very good condition. Very lightly worn, a lovely poster.

 

A depiction of a happy couple by an artist  noted for dynamic designs and illustrations in eye-catching posters that inspired the imagination. During the 1940's and 1950's Ewart became one of Canadian Pacific's major artistic contributors. Not in Choko and Jones' "Posters of the Canadian Pacific".

Near fine. Original off-set lithograph in colours. 36 X 24". Not trimmed. Beautiful soft colours and interesting detail. Strong composition. In great condition with only very mild wear to edges and subtle wrippling to top right corner. A fantastic piece of decorative Banff/Canadian ephemera.

Shows the Canadian Pacific Banff Springs Hotel and the mountaineous landscape and valley behind- built during the nineteenth century it is one of Canada's grandest railway hotels.

Artist anonymous.  36" x 24" (91 x 61 cm). Photolithograph. Original. In very good condition with detailed graphics, bright colours and only a small chip missing from left edge. A very nice Poster.

 

In Choko and Jones 'Posters of the Canadian Pacific' 2nd edition (pp. 197). Shows Skylon Tower, with observatory restaurant operated by Canadian Pacific with daytime and night time views of Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Empress of Canada to Europe

c. 1960

 

36" x 24" (91 x 61 cm). Original CP Ships Poster. No date. In very good condition with only minor wrinkling. Very light discoloration and wear around edges. Small chip to the right top corner which was repaired.

 

A visually entertaining poster depicting colourfully illustrated characters filling a ship which spans the distance between Canada and England. 'The Empress of Canada' CP Ship depicted was launched in 1960 (the third of its name) and traversed the Atlantic going from Canada to Liverpool for over a decade.

Not represented in Choko and Jones 'Posters of the Canadian Pacific' 2nd edition.

Canadian Pacific-Cominco Pavilion, Expo 67

 

36" x 24" (91 x 61 cm). Original. Very minor wear and wrinkling with slight yellowing. Six marks from where the glue from tape on the back wore through (3 on the top and 3 on the bottom about 1 1/4" x 1/2" each). A fun poster in very good condition.

 

A colourful and strong graphic showing a small realistic illustration of the CP-Cominco Pavilion at Expo 67 in Montreal as well as a larger, more abstract and colourful version of one of the structures.

Poster not show in Choko and Jones 'Posters of the Canadian Pacific' 2nd ed.

22" X 36". Original un-mounted Royal Mail Service Sailings Poster. Slight trimming to top border.  Some buckling with very light staining at edges.

 

Poster shows sailing dates of various steamers from St. John - Halifax - Liverpool and Boston - Portland - Glasgow as well as ticket rates. The Allan Shipping Line was started in 1819 and in 1917 sold to the Canadian Pacific Ocean Services LTD (CPOS, now CP Ships).

18.5" X 12.25". Original double sided advertisement poster form Canada Pacific Service from England to Canada. In good to very good condition creases from being folded into eight. Light staining horizontally across middle. Wrinkled and worn at edges slightly. An informative and interesting poster.

 

Advertisement with information about steamers, tonnage, fares, classes and travel with CP from Liverpool to Halifax or ST John. Has 4 1/2" X 6 1/2" colour illustration of a CP Royal Mail Express Steamship. Information on both sides. On back reads 'No foreigners except Scandinavians carried Third Class from Liverpool'.

Chateau Frontenac, Quebec 1940

 

Artist Unknown. 29.25" X 35". Original B/W photograph. In large wooden frame which reads 'CP' at bottom. In very good condition with only slight yellowing due to age. Grey matting. A nice image of the Chateau.

 

B/W historic photo of Château Frontenac, an imposing hotel with five brick and stone wings and a central tower erected in seven stages between 1892 and 1993. It is prominently located on a cliff overlooking the St. Lawrence River, within the Québec historic district. The Château Frontenac was designed by American architect Bruce Price, as one of a series of "château" style hotels built for the Canadian Pacific Railway company (aka CPR) during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. CPR'S policy was to promote luxury tourism by appealing to wealthy travelers. The Château Frontenac opened in 1893, five years after the Banff Springs Hotel, which was owned by the same company and similar in style.

A strongly graphic poster depicting a Hawaiian flower, two Hawaiian dancers and a fishnet. Rare, not in Choko and Jones 'Posters of the Canadian Pacific'.

to Great Britain and Europe for Rates Sailings and Other Information Apply Within c 1925

 

Original 27.5 X 19" metal sign advertisement, some stamped details. Some wear to edges and mild scratching and wear to face. Holes in each corner to hang it as well as a larger hole at the top center. Some warping and mild denting. A very interesting piece.

 

 The sign lists the names of six 14,000 ton "A"-class liners built for the Cunard Line in the early 1920's. The sign depicts a cunard liner on the ocean with a small sail boat in the foreground. In front of the scene is a large red flag showing the insignia of the Cunard line. Rich colours and strong details. Aquila Books # 133-694
