Frame measures 19" X 21.5" (48 X 54.6 cm). White matting. Save for a few very small imperfections in the printing of the image it is in fine condition. With sticker of 'Exhibition of Alpine' at 'The Alpine Club, W. I.' affixed to back of frame.

Photograph by L. S. Amery. Leopold Charles Maurice Stennett Amery CH (22 November 1873 – 16 September 1955), usually known as Leo Amery or L. S. Amery, was a British Conservative Party politician and journalist, noted for his interest in military preparedness, India, and the British Empire. Leo Amery was also an outdoorsman, especially famous as a mountaineer. He continued to climb well into his sixties, especially in the Swiss Alps, but also in Bavaria, Austria, Yugoslavia and Italy as well as in the Canadian Rockies where Mt. Amery is named after him. He was also a member of the Alpine Club where this image was once exhibited. He even served as its President, 1943–1945.
Maligne Lake is a lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It is famed for the colour of its water, the surrounding peaks, the three glaciers visible from the lake and Spirit Island, one of the most photographed locations in the world. Aquila # 135180
